In 2020 the tourism and travel industries were severely hit by the pandemic. Still, some businesses used the period of stillness to invest in improvements and prepare for the future. Icon Sports was one of these businesses. The travel agency, based in Waterford, Ireland, is focused exclusively on packages for sports events.
I was very excited to design the visual identity for the new brand! After gathering the briefing from the client and studying some of the competitors, I started work on the sketches.
The final design is a clean and stacked logo. The word icon ICON, in geometric typography, has the letter I divided, creating a symbol that resembles the crests of sports clubs. Vibrant colours add energy to the design, and the italic in the word SPORTS, indicate movement.
The deliverables include a logo guideline and different applications of the logo.
